Dental Implant

If you are missing one or more teeth, there are several options available to replace them. One of these options is a dental implant, which consists of three parts. The first is the replacement of the root of the tooth, the second is adding a connector and the third is installing the crown. At Centre Dentaire NP, we offer the highest quality service to restore a natural appearance to your teeth, both aesthetically and functionally.

Dental Implant: Information to Help Make Your Decision

A dental implant integrates into our jawbone, which is called osseointegration, essentially fusing into the bone. This process allows you the ability to have a true replacement of your natural teeth while maintaining a beautiful smile. This option is a less invasive process when compared to a dental bridge, as there is no preparation of neighboring teeth that is required. A dental implant can be a replacement of a single tooth, prosthesis (partial or complete) or a bridge can be placed on top of dental implants (replacement of multiple teeth).

The Stages of Placing a Dental Implant

  • The consultation: A 3D scan of the mouth is taken to determine the density, height and quality of bone and then virtually plan the surgery. The dentist will then plan the stages of the dental implant surgery.
  • Dental implant: Under local anesthetic, the dentist will make an incision in your jawbone to place the dental implant. Once placed, the dentist will close the area with stitches.
  • Osseointegration: This healing process has a time frame of 4-6 months so that the bone of the jawbone can form and keep the implant firmly in place.
  • The abutment: Once the area has healed, the abutment (connector) is placed on top of the implant. This part plays a role in connecting the implant to the crown.
  • The crown: Once ready, the dentist will take a dental impression of the area to fabricate a crown that is a replication of your natural tooth.

Dental Implant: Why Should I Choose this Treatment?

1. For a durable and solid solution

As a dental implant is one of the only replacement solutions that integrates into the bone (osseointegration), the dental implant stays strong and can last for several decades!

2. For continuous jawbone stimulation

As the dental implant sits in the bone and replaces your root, your jawbone continues to be stimulated, keeping it healthy and preventing bone loss.

3. For a natural replacement

The dental implant will serve as a solid and esthetically pleasing solution as it replaces your natural tooth. It integrates into your dentition harmoniously and allows you to enjoy your meals!

4. For a secured and harmonious replacement

The virtual planning that is offered at Centre dentaire NP allows for surgical precision while ensuring that your tooth is replaced within your oral cavity in a safe manner.
